Welcome to the Website!
Then God said, "Let us make human beings in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground...everything under their feet." So God created human beings in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it… God saw all that he had made, and it was very Good. The Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground nd breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being… The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. …In Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness… God made you alive with Christ… you have taken off your old self with its practices… and have put on the new self, which isbeing renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. (Compiled from Genesis 1, 2 & Colossians 3) Below, see N.T. (Tom) Wright on what it means to be made in the Image of God. This lies at the heart of what it means to be a human being. This question, "What does it mean to be human?", is fundamental for shaping how we educate our young persons, for we educate them for their vocation as human beings on this earth. |
